Folake Elias-Adebowale is a partner at Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie, where she co-heads its private equity and corporate advisory teams, and is a member of its energy and natural resources team. Her specialisations include acquisitions, project finance for energy, gas and industrial projects, foreign investment, corporate restructuring, commercial transactions and employment law. Folake advises a variety of local and international clients including multinationals, lenders, development finance institutions and top tier investors on a diverse range of transactions and issues pertinent to key economic sectors in Nigeria and its export processing zones, including the petroleum, food and beverage, fast moving consumer goods, telecommunications, construction and manufacturing sectors. She also advises various participants in the petroleum sector, including one of the world’s largest extractors of natural gas, in relation to various oil and gas projects and marginal field investments. Folake is a contributor to the International Law Office’s Energy and Natural Resources Newsletter and sits on the board of several companies. She is commended by Who’s Who Legal for her project finance and oil and gas work, and is ranked by Chambers Global for her corporate/commercial practice. Folake read Jurisprudence at Somerville College, Oxford University, and obtained a master of laws from University College London before she was called to the Nigerian bar in 1996.
