The Abraaj Group Lists Cleopatra Hospital on Egyptian Exchange (MENA, CEE and CIS)

Global growth markets investor The Abraaj Group has listed Egypt-based healthcare provider Cleopatra Hospital on the Egyptian Exchange, raising EGP360 million (approximately US$40.5 million) in an initial public offering (IPO). Abraaj, which originally invested in Cleopatra Hospital in 2014 through Abraaj Private Equity Fund IV and Abraaj North Africa Fund II, will retain an 80 percent stake in the company. Separately, Abraaj has agreed to acquire a minority stake in Turkey-based bank Fibabanka. The company will use the new capital to expand its franchise and support its growth. Financial details of the transaction, which is subject to closing conditions and expected to be completed in Q3 2016, were not disclosed.
