International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector development institution of the World Bank Group, the governments of Canada and the United Kingdom, and the sovereign wealth fund of Azerbaijan have collectively invested about US$280 million in the IFC Catalyst Fund, a private equity fund of funds managed by IFC. IFC is committing US$75 million to the vehicle, which will invest in funds providing growth capital to companies focused on climate change.
