Marwan Al-Turki is a leading UK private investment fund formation lawyer and acts as Co-Chair of the firm’s European Private Equity Funds Group. Mr. Al-Turki focuses his practice on structuring multi-jurisdictional private equity funds for offering to an international institutional investor base. He advises such funds on matters relating to investments and realisation programmes.

Jennifer Burleigh
Partner, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP

Jennifer Burleigh is a corporate partner and member of the firm’s Private Equity and Investment Management Groups. Her practice focuses principally on advising sponsors in the formation of a broad array of private investment funds, including leveraged buyout, international private equity, energy/infrastructure, mezzanine and distressed debt and equity funds. Ms. Burleigh’s private fund clients include EIG Global Energy Partners, Friedman, Fleischer & Lowe, Gávea Investimentos, Odyssey Investment Partners, PineBridge Investments, Trust Company of the West and Vinci Partners.

Ms. Burleigh also advises clients in connection with strategic investments in private investment firms, asset manager spin-outs and the establishment of new investment firms. Most recently, she advised on the establishment of private fund sponsor Tenex Capital Partners, and advised American International Group in the sale of its investment advisory and asset management business to Pacific Century Group. She has also counseled clients in the creation of listed “permanent capital” vehicles and advised sophisticated financial institutions in the establishment of employee investment programs.

Peter Furci

Peter Furci is a tax partner and a member of the firm’s Private Equity and Latin America Groups. He concentrates on the tax aspects of a wide range of corporate transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings and debt and equity securities offerings by US and non-US issuers. He also practices extensively in the area of private investment funds, including emerging markets, hedge, mezzanine, distressed debt, infrastructure and real estate funds.
