EMPEA Appoints David Creighton as Senior Advisor
26 November 2014, Washington, DC — EMPEA, the global industry association for private capital in emerging markets, announces today that it has appointed David Creighton to serve as a Senior Advisor to the organization. David also currently serves as Chair of EMPEA’s newly created Private Credit Council.
David has accumulated over 30 years’ experience in international capital markets in a career that has taken him from New York to London and throughout Asia. Returning to his native Montreal in 1999, David co-founded Cordiant Capital, a unique fund manager specializing in emerging markets, private sector investments. As Chairman of the Management Committee and the Investment Committee at Cordiant, David has been directly involved in the analysis and approval of nearly 200 investments in more than 55 emerging countries. He is also a director of the Windlough Enterprises, a member of the Government of Canada’s Infrastructure Advisory Board, and Chairman of the Investment Committee for the BCS Foundation. David guest lectures at McGill University and is a frequent speaker at conferences and in the media on matters relating to emerging markets.
EMPEA currently serves approximately 330 member firms representing over US$1 trillion in assets under management. The organization’s membership, including fund managers, institutional investors and other industry stakeholders, share the belief that private equity investment in emerging markets can generate attractive returns to investors while creating significant value for companies, economies and communities.
