Warburg Pincus to Inves Apteki Gemini;China Huarong Asset Management Completes an IPO (CEE and CIS)

Global private equity firm Warburg Pincus has agreed to invest in Poland-based pharmacy company Apteki Gemini. The new capital will be used to expand the company’s traditional and e-commerce business. Financial details of the transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, were not disclosed. Separately, Warburg Pincus-backed China Huarong Asset Management, a China-based distressed debt manager, has raised HKD17.8 billion (approximately US$2.3 billion) in an initial public offering (IPO) on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company sold 5.77 billion shares for HKD3.09 (approximately US$0.40) a piece. Warburg Pincus did not dispose of any shares.
