Global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group and Brazil-focused alternative investment and asset management firm Vinci Partners have agreed to invest in Brazil-based education company Uniasselvi, a subsidiary of Kroton Educacional. The transaction will be structured through Carlyle’s South America Buyout Fund and Fundo Brasil de Internacionalização de Empresas II FIP (FBIE), a local fund advised by Carlyle and Banco do Brasil. Financial details of the transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the next several months, were not disclosed.
