Emerging Asia funds raised an aggregate $50 billion in 2017, the highest on record since 2008, according to data from the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association. KKR Asian Fund III, which closed on $9.3 billion in June, the region’s largest fund in history, made up almost a fifth of the fundraising amount for emerging Asia.
