The Wall Street Journal invites nonprofit and for-profit enterprises to enter The Financial Inclusion Challenge competition and to showcase their solutions to the problems of financial access for the poor in the Asia-Pacific region. The competition is part of an editorial initiative aimed at providing insight into the challenges and triumphs faced in creating financial access for some of the more than two billion people globally who are largely excluded from basic financial services.

Three finalists will be invited to attend the Financial Inclusion Challenge 2017 live Hong Kong event in June, where the winner will be chosen. Each finalist will have an opportunity to present their innovation to a panel of judges and an audience from Asia and around the world. This year’s judges include Mary Ellen Iskenderian, President and CEO of Women’s World Banking, and Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus. The finalists will also be invited to attend the WSJDLive Asia technology conference in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
