Global growth private equity firm TA Associates has completed its first investment in Africa by acquiring a minority stake in Interswitch, a Nigeria-based integrated digital payments and commerce company. Africa-focused private investment firm Helios Investment Partners, which invested in Interswitch in 2011, will remain the company’s majority shareholder. Interswitch’s operations in Nigeria include domestic debit card scheme Verve and business-to-consumer (B2C) bill payment and digital commerce platform Quickteller. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed
